aughter of Princess Likelike (Kalakaua's sister), & Archibald Cleghorn. Princess Kaiulani was claimed heir to the throne on March 9, 1891 by her aunt, Queen Liliuokalani, but because of the overthrow in 1893, she never succeeded the throne and soon after, the beloved princess died childless at the age of 24, while she was engaged to marry Prince David Kawananakoa who was also named as an heir to the throne after Kaiulani.
