orn on November 1, 1838, Princess Victoria's mother was Princess Kinau, a sister of King Kamehameha II & III, her father was Mataio Kekuanaoa.  She became Kuhina Nui in 1855, the Constitution of the Hawaiian Kingdom provided that the Kuhina Nui may assume the power of the monarch should the ruler be absent from their duties, which she in fact did assume power for a day when her brother Kamehameha IV died leaving no legal heirs in 1864.  Princess Victoria died childless in 1866.
