The Most Noble Order of Kamehameha I was established by King Lot Kapuaiwa Kalanimakua Kalanikapuapaikalaninui Aliʻiolani, styled Kamehameha V of the Kamehameha Dynasty, Royal House of Keoua Nui on April 11, 1865 by royal decree.  The highest order of the Kingdom of Hawai'i as a dynastic order of knighthood highly awarded to the head of  states/dynasties, also as award of merit to loyal individuals who provided noble services to the royal family and the kingdom.

The Royal Order of Kalakaua was instituted on September 28, 1875 by King Kalakaua to commemorate his accession to the throne of the Kingdom of Hawaiʻi.   The order highly awarded to the head of  states/dynasties, also as awards of merit to loyal individuals who provided noble services to the royal family and the kingdom.

The Royal Order of Kapiʻolani was instituted on August 30, 1880 by King Kalakaua to recognize services in the cause of humanity, for saving the Hawaiian race and for merit in science and the arts, also for special services rendered to the Kingdom of Hawaiʻi.  Named in honor of commemorating the deeds of his ancestor, Kapi'olani the Great who embraced Christianity and defied the volcano goddess Pele.

The Royal Order of the Star of Oceania, founded by King Kalakaua I on 16th December 1886  for the recompense of distinguished services rendered in advancing his plan for a confederation of Polynesian nations, islands of the Pacific and Indian Oceans, and on contiguous Continents. In anticipation of Samoa joining the confederation, King Malietoa  was awarded the Grand Cross.

The Royal Order of the Star of Oceania
The Royal Order of the Crown and Cross of Hawai'i is the first royal order of the kingdom and was established by King Kauikeaouli, styled Kamehameha III of the Kamehameha Dynasty, Royal House of Keoua Nui, July, 1848 on the advice of his Minister of Foreign Relations, the Honorable Robert Chrichton Wyllie, to install a peerage for the sovereign of Hawai'i.  An award system of knighthood for the recompense of distinguished merit and services rendered to the sovereign. But the order was not fully granted because of the ridicule received from Americans who then dominated the islands.  Later, revived and expanded by King Kalakaua  on  September  12, 1882.
